About this role

Open worldwide. Strong international exposure is particularly valuable. Candidates with networks spanning Africa–Europe, Africa–North America, Africa–Asia, Europe–Asia or other cross-regional corridors are encouraged.

All Global Executive Council candidates must: Demonstrate good character, professional integrity and sound judgment; Demonstrate leadership capacity appropriate to the office; Demonstrate commitment to the mission, objectives and values of GASWT; Be capable of working effectively across cultures, countries and time zones; Possess strong professional communication and interpersonal skills; Be available to perform the responsibilities of the office; Comply with the GASWT Constitution, Code of Ethics, safeguarding requirements, conflict-of-interest provisions and approved organizational policies; Demonstrate respect for diversity, inclusion, accessibility, human rights and ethical technology; Have no undisclosed conflict of interest that would materially affect the performance of the office; Provide verifiable academic, professional and leadership credentials where requested.

This position is initially voluntary and unpaid. Appointment does not, by itself, create an automatic entitlement to salary, honorarium, allowance or other personal financial compensation. Subject to available funds and approved financial policies, GASWT may reimburse reasonable and properly documented expenses incurred in the legitimate performance of official duties. As GASWT develops its financial capacity, the appropriate governing authority may establish a formal compensation framework.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in International Relations, International Development, Political Science, Business Administration, Communications, Social Sciences, Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership, partnership or institutional-relations experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships between organizations.
  • Experience developing partnership proposals, MoUs, sponsorships or institutional collaborations.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience representing organizations before institutions and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across cultures and international environments.

Preferred experience

  • PhD/Doctorate is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Existing international professional networks.
  • Experience with universities, governments, NGOs, foundations, technology companies or development institutions.
  • International fundraising/resource mobilization experience.
  • Multinational organizational experience.
