About this role
Open globally. GASWT particularly welcomes candidates with experience from universities, research institutions and international research organizations across Africa, Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America & the Caribbean and the Middle East.

This position is initially voluntary and unpaid. Appointment does not, by itself, create an automatic entitlement to salary, honorarium, allowance or other personal financial compensation. Subject to available funds and approved financial policies, GASWT may reimburse reasonable and properly documented expenses incurred in the legitimate performance of official duties. As GASWT develops its financial capacity, the appropriate governing authority may establish a formal compensation framework.
Requirements
- Minimum: Master's degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Research Methods, Statistics, Public Health, Development Studies, Data Science, Technology, Innovation, Economics or another relevant research discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of research or evidence-generation experience.
- Minimum 3 years of research leadership or research project-management experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing, conducting or managing research projects.
- Strong knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies.
- Experience developing research proposals and contributing to or securing research funding.
- Experience supervising researchers or research teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of research ethics, research integrity and responsible data practices.
- Experience producing peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, technical reports or other credible research outputs.
Preferred experience
- Candidates holding a Master's degree with an exceptional research record may be considered.
- PhD/Doctorate.
