Global Treasurer
Global Executive Council office with significant fiduciary responsibility for GASWT's finances.

Open worldwide. Candidates with experience in international NGOs, foundations, development organizations, professional associations or multinational organizations are strongly encouraged.

This position is initially voluntary and unpaid. Appointment does not, by itself, create an automatic entitlement to salary, honorarium, allowance or other personal financial compensation. Subject to available funds and approved financial policies, GASWT may reimburse reasonable and properly documented expenses incurred in the legitimate performance of official duties. As GASWT develops its financial capacity, the appropriate governing authority may establish a formal compensation framework.
Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification preferred: ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA or an equivalent nationally recognized accounting/finance qualification.
- Minimum 7 years of professional finance/accounting experience.
- Minimum 5 years of managerial, financial-control or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial reporting, audit processes and financial controls.
- Experience with nonprofit financial management.
- Experience managing grants, donor funds or restricted funding is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with international organizations or organizations operating across multiple jurisdictions is advantageous.
- High level of financial integrity.
- Understanding of fraud prevention and internal controls.
- Ability to work effectively with auditors and governing bodies.
- Understanding of nonprofit financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to maintain financial confidentiality.
Preferred experience
- A PhD/Doctorate is an advantage but is not mandatory.
