The position is not restricted by nationality or country of residence. International leadership experience and the ability to operate effectively across regions are primary considerations.

This position is initially voluntary and unpaid. Appointment does not, by itself, create an automatic entitlement to salary, honorarium, allowance or other personal financial compensation. Subject to available funds and approved financial policies, GASWT may reimburse reasonable and properly documented expenses incurred in the legitimate performance of official duties. As GASWT develops its financial capacity, the appropriate governing authority may establish a formal compensation framework.
Requirements
- Minimum: Doctorate/PhD in Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, International Relations, Management, Organizational Leadership, Technology, Development Studies or another discipline relevant to the mission and operations of GASWT.
- A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is expected as part of the candidate's academic progression.
- Equivalent doctoral-level professional qualifications may be considered where appropriately recognized.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated senior leadership, executive management or organizational leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, programmes, institutions, departments, projects or significant organizational initiatives.
- Proven experience coordinating complex operations across multiple departments, regions, institutions or countries.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing organizational strategies, policies, systems and operational frameworks.
- Experience working with international NGOs, professional associations, universities, development organizations, government institutions or multinational organizations is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to advise and support senior executive leadership and translate institutional strategy into effective implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to work across countries, cultures and professional environments.
- Strong understanding of organizational governance, institutional development and international coordination.
- Excellent strategic planning, decision-making, diplomacy and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate GASWT's regional and country structures while maintaining organizational standards and objectives.
Preferred experience
- Previous executive or senior leadership position in an international NGO, professional association, university, development organization, government institution or multinational organization.
- Experience managing international teams or multi-country programmes.
- Academic publications, professional contributions or demonstrated thought leadership.
- Experience in social work, technology, research, innovation or interdisciplinary development.
